Foxglove Cottage

This poem was written by Marilyn Harris who stayed in Foxglove Cottage in 2012. We found it in the guest book after she left and were delighted when she gave her permission for us to reproduce it here.

Foxglove Reviews

This little gem

A cottage so dear

Unknown to me

Until this year

In years gone by

Providing a home

For the quarry men

Their toil with stone

If her walls could speak

No doubt they would tell

Some stories of sadness

From their quarry hell

But now 'Foxglove' stands

This cottage blessed

To become a holiday home

For the weary and stressed

And just like home

All comforts are here

A haven from the madness

That lies out there
