Hardwick Hall
Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Nature Crafts at Hardwick Hall
14th to 17th April
Hunt for chocolate eggs around the house and garden and along Lady Spencer's wood. Celebrate spring with nature-themed crafts.
Ashover May Day
May Day in Ashover Village
Monday 1st May
An annual event held in the centre of the village. There are numerous stalls and food vendors and entertainment includes the Ashover Brass Band, a bouncy castle, May Pole dancing and a Tug of War contest.

An exciting programme of over 60 guided walks around North Derbyshire. Many walks are free but numbers are limited on each walk so please book early. We recommend local Ashover walks including "A Tale of Two Loos" on Monday 8th May, "Aspire Ashover" on Friday 12th May, "Making Hay in Ashover" on Saturday 13th May and "I-spy Ashover" on Sunday 14th May.

A 3-day event of equestrian sport held in the grounds of Chatsworth House. Includes family entertainment, dressage, falconry, gun dog display plus shopping village.
L'Eroica Britannia
L'Eroica Britannia at Bakewell Showground
Friday 16th June to Sunday 18th June
A wonderfully eccentric bicycle event, described as the "world's most handsome bike ride". There are three different routes to enjoy around the Peak District. Modern and vintage bikes abound with vintage cycling wear, live entertainment, food markets and local, national and international participants.

Chesterfield Medieval Market
Chesterfield Medieval Fun Day
Tuesday 25th July
Chesterfield's famous market hosts a day of medieval entertainment including knights, ladies and minstrels taking part in battles and skirmishes. Stalls and fun-fair with refreshments and hog roast. Trips up the Crooked Spire will also be available.

Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd August
Derbyshire's premier agricultural and horticultural event for the whole family. Exhibitors displaying horses, livestock, rabbits, dogs, pigeons and poultry.
8.30am to 6.30pm. Advance ticket adult entry with all accompanied under 16s free. Tickets also available on the gate.

An entertaining and fun day out for all of the family to enjoy. A really traditional country show in a beautiful setting. Includes cattle, sheep and shire horse classes. Visit the horticulture and craft tents, sample wonderful food in the Appetising Ashover marquee or listen to the Ashover Brass Band.
Chatsworth Country Fair

Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd September
This popular annual outdoor event has something for everyone. Attractions include massed pipe and military bands, hot air balloons, vintage cars, ferret racing and over 300 varied trade stands and rural crafts. The Red Arrows perform on Friday and Sunday.
Gates open at 9am. Closing ceremony at about 6.30pm.
Matlock Bath Illuminations
Matlock Bath Illuminations and Fireworks
Saturdays and Sundays between 9th September and 28th October. Firework displays each Saturday night from 9th Sep to 28th Oct.
Visit the Derwent Gardens in Matlock Bath on Saturday and Sunday evenings for family entertainment and for the parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent at 7.45pm.
November & December
Chatsworth House
Chatsworth at Christmas
11th November 2017 to 5th January 2018 (closed 24-26 Dec and 1st Jan)
The lower floors of the House will be decorated for Christmas, inspired by a different theme each year. A Christmas market will be taking place - dates to be announced - with musical entertainment, a bavarian beer tent and festive food. A range of unique gifts can be found in the Stables shops.
